Tumble, Tactics & Teaspoons

In the midst of the Spoons drama, debate continues over whether Pascal was pushed or simply succumbed to a sudden and decisive encounter with gravity on a sun-baked green.

And while scientists are still scratching their heads over the great mystery of disappearing teaspoons, especially the gold ones, we can confirm there were no gold spoons (30 points) claimed today… perhaps they’re being guarded just that little bit more closely as the competition heats up!!
There was plenty of excellent bowling on display across all rinks, with some strong performances and tight contests throughout.

Results:
1st Place: Rink 2, Red Team, John N, Pascal & Maureen G – 26 points
2nd Place: Rink 4, Red Team, Seamus F & Plunket – 24 points
3rd Place: Rink 1, Red Team, Brian & Helen – 22 points
A special mention to Frank & Rattana who also put in a solid performance with 19 points.
Red domination was the story of the day across all four rinks, with the red teams sweeping the board and taking all four top places from eight competing teams.

The presentation to today’s winners was kindly made by Cyril, rounding off another enjoyable and competitive afternoon.
Of course, no Spoons day would be complete without a little controversy… Pascal took a dramatic tumble on the green and is adamant he was pushed, with suspicion falling firmly on Kathleen from the opposition! Not content with that, there are also reports of his foot being “accidentally” stood on… twice… involving both Kathleen and her lead, Seamus D!!!
Neutral observers, however, are leaning towards the theory that Pascal may have simply fallen over his own feet, though the investigation is ongoing!
Thankfully no harm done, and he recovered well enough to help secure 1st place, making it a performance that was quite literally hard to knock down!
As always, great camaraderie, great weather, and just the small matter of those elusive gold spoons still out there somewhere… waiting!
