Trip Through The Gap

Letterkenny Visitors Enjoy Perfect Day at Sligo

On a perfect day for bowling, twelve bowlers from Letterkenny ventured through "The Gap" to play a friendly match against Sligo.

After the greetings, refreshments, and a chance to get acquainted, it was games on. The format for the day was triples throughout, with two games of seven ends each. As Letterkenny normally play on grass, a little acclimatisation was needed at the start.

Games were played in a competitive spirit, with plenty of banter and craic all round. After the first seven ends, Sligo were ahead on rinks 1, 2 and 4. During the break, several substitutions were made on the Sligo teams, and the momentum remained with the home side. At the end of the second session, Sligo secured wins on rinks 1, 3 and 4.

A great day was had by all, and Letterkenny expressed their thanks to Sligo for hosting them and for the refreshments provided. Sincere thanks to everyone who supplied sandwiches and other goodies, and to those who helped tidy up afterwards.
